Omnibus VI – Simplification of certain requirements and procedures for chemical products
The European Commission put forward an initiative aiming at simplifying and streamlining certain requirements and procedures for chemical products laid down in Regulation (EC) No 1272/2008 on classification, labelling and packaging of substances and mixtures (‘CLP Regulation’), Regulation (EC) No 1223/2009 on cosmetic products and Regulation (EU) 2019/1009 laying down rules on the making available on the market of EU fertilising products identified as particularly burdensome by industry and authorities. These provisions would benefit from regulatory streamlining and modernisation, which would make chemical legislation more efficient and cost-effective for industry, while at the same time ensuring a high level of protection of human health and the environment.
