IFEAT Vision Statement

THE INTERNATIONAL FEDERATION OF ESSENTIAL OILS & AROMA TRADES LIMITED (IFEAT) HAS BEEN ESTABLISHED TO CARRY OUT ITS DUTIES AS FOLLOWS:

To advance, promote, watch over and protect the rights and interests of the essential oils and aroma trades industry (the “industry”). The industry shall be defined as all trades, businesses, and professions, wherever they are carried out in the world, interested in or affected by the extraction, refining, manufacturing, producing, preparing, preserving, carrying, packaging, warehousing, storing, buying, selling, advertising or disseminating information with regard to aromatic raw materials including their related products.

To promote and facilitate trade in the industry by organising conferences, exhibitions, meetings, or other activities

 

To respond to and distribute information on matters of public interest related to the industry

 

 

To maintain relationships with other industry bodies, as well as with governments and other bodies, regarding matters affecting the industry

 

 To endorse ethical business principles in the industry, and to assist members to find common ground among values and cultures while thriving and succeeding in a competitive business environment

To originate, promote or challenge legislation, or other measures, which potentially affect the industry and related stakeholders

 

To encourage the sustainable, reliable, and responsible use of essential oils, extracts and aromatic chemicals

 

 

To promote research and development of essential oils and related products through support of universities and industry associations and to provide educational opportunities including programmes, courses, seminars, and lectures that stimulate learning and development within the industry


To provide conciliation services on request to Federation members regarding commercial disputes between members or between a member and a non-member

To identify issues, promote awareness, and provide information to industry members on broader issues affecting the industry, in order to contribute positively to global issues and lead by example. These issues include, but are not limited to, sustainability and socio-economic development
