We regret that due to the recent events in Sri Lanka we have cancelled the 2019 Study Tour. Our thoughts are with the people of Sri Lanka and we hope that we will have the opportunity to run a Study Tour there in the future.

IFEAT Study Tour to Sri Lanka 

IFEAT STUDY TOUR TO SRI LANKA JULY 22nd – 31st 2019.

Plans are well advanced for IFEAT’s 12th Study Tour to Sri Lanka timed to take place between the two monsoon seasons in late July 2019.

The IFEAT Local Organising Committee, made up of almost all IFEAT members in Sri Lanka and chaired by Dr Devapriya Nugawela has already held several meetings to help organise this second IFEAT Study Tour to Sri Lanka.

The “Spice Island” has diverse climatic zones facilitating the production of many aromatic and medicinal plants.

The itinerary includes visits to see the production and processing of a range of F&F products including cinnamon and citronella in the southern coastal belt; black pepper, cloves, nutmeg and sandalwood in the central hills. Moreover, Sri Lanka has a history stretching back thousands of years and during the journey around this beautiful island, delegates will see a diverse environment, alongside magnificent cultures and scenery.

Initially registration will be limited to one person from each IFEAT member company and potential delegates will need to agree to IFEAT’s Study Tour Participation Policy.
